About

Programme Overview

The Providing the Tools for Financial Wellbeing initiative builds on the Financial Resilience for Domestic Violence Support Services project, which ran in 2022-2023, which delivered an 8-part online financial literacy training programme for 36 DSGBV support staff across Ireland.

In-Person Engagement

The programme was redeveloped into a half-day, interactive, in-person workshop, allowing staff to interact directly with financial experts, collaborate on case studies, and receive real-time feedback. The updated programme included:

  • A Financial Wellbeing Toolkit for tailored survivor support

  • Interactive workshops to practice new skills

  • Presentations from banking professionals to understand financial systems

Key Partnerships

  • TASC (Think Tank for Action on Social Change) leads content development, ensuring the materials are research-based, accessible, and aligned with progressive policy ideals.

  • Safe Ireland ensures the training is trauma-informed and survivor-led, prioritising the voices and experiences of those directly impacted by domestic violence.

  • Irish Banking Culture Board (IBCB) facilitates connections with banks and financial experts, fostering collaboration and practical insights into financial systems and supports.
